What insurance would you suggest for an EU citizen?

Hey, people! I am 30+ years old male, with no health issues but I decided that it's a smart move to start a health insuarance.

I live in Bulgaria and i pay public health insuarance for my country but honestly said our health care is very very bad. You just don't want to get sick here. People with serious illness who want to have a chance, choose to go to Turkey, Israel or Western Europe.

That's why if at any point I need, I would like to be able to go abroad and get medical care there. But how can I find a proper insuarance? I mean an insuarance company that will most probably pay you the amount if you need it.

I applied for BestDoctors insuarance, offered by a local insuarance broker called SDI. The price was pretty good – less than 300 EUR per year.

However, they rejected my application because they asked me questions about my parents. And my mom had a stroke before the age of 50. And their condidtion was – your parent's shouldn't have had any serious ilnnesses before the age of 50.

I think that rejection was for good because later I learned some stories about people in my country who bought the same insuarance and when they needed the money – they were told some reason why they can't have it.

That's the main problem with insuarance providers in my country – even if you buy it, most probably they won't pay you when you need it.

Do you have any suggestions for me what insuarance I can take for the nest years?
