What do you do when you don’t qualify for anything?
I don’t make enough to qualify for the tax credits in order to get an affordable marketplace plan. When I apply on healthcare . gov it tells me to apply for Medicaid in my state.
I applied and was told I don’t qualify for Medicaid.
I called (marketplace) to see if there were any other options and was told that my only other option is to pay for a full price plan.
The estimated out of pocket cost for that is more than I even make and the premiums are not even close to anything I can afford.
I am self employed, unmarried, have two autoimmune diseases, and clinical / major depression. I’ve been without insurance for 4 months. I cannot afford to refill half of my medication, and I am barely able to get out of bed at this point and just keep sinking further in to a hole.
Without treatment and medication I can’t function well enough to work more often than not so my financial situation is getting worse and I’m becoming more desperate.
I don’t know what to do. How do I get health insurance that I can afford so that I can get my health and my life back on track before I lose everything?
