What are my options for insurance (California) outside of open enrollment without special enrollment?

Hello all. I (30,m) initially had insurance through LA Care via Covered CA earlier this year but the premium was pretty costly for me ($290/mo). My fiancée and I decided to register for domestic partnership in the mean time before we get married so I can get on her employer insurance, which has better coverage and a fraction of the cost of my Covered CA plan.

However, we did not do research as much as we should have. We were surprised to learn about imputed income and saw that aside from my insurance cost ($150/mo) she was getting deducted an additional $250 from her paycheck after adding me on. So even though my insurance premium is not $400 it’s technically that much because I am on the plan. Although the coverage is much better than my previous plan, it costs more to keep me on the employer plan.

So this brings me to the question, what really are my options now? My current plan cost is definitely out of my budget. It’s open enrollment for her insurance right now so she can remove me but I don’t think I qualify for any special enrollment events. I was banking on a special enrollment event so I can just move back to covered CA but enroll in a lower tier plan. Not sure what to do now.

Thanks in advance.
