Upcoming Surgery – Not Sure What I’m Paying

Hello! I’m having GRS this Tuesday which is a medically necessary surgery that is covered by Insurance. I have Cigna and I called to ask them how much I would have to pay out of pocket at the hospital and I was told I would pay my max deductible up front.

Then when I was doing my pre registration with the hospital yesterday, I was told I would be charged for my max out of pocket. I don’t know if she said that would be upfront or not but I did tell her that I hadn’t budgeted for the extra 1750 that would be and I only have the max deductible amount at the ready and I couldn’t really get that amount in the few days between the pre registration and the surgery itself. She said she notated this on my paperwork.

I’m worried that I’m going to go to the hospital and be turned away. What can I do to make sure I have this surgery. I was already on a waiting list of 8 months and I don’t know if I can handle being put back on it with all the money I’ve put into it already.
