Hello, I have been working with a company temporarily for almost a year, I started in April, I got insurance on the very first day, I never got sent my insurance cards and it took me begging until July for them to electronically send me my insurance cards.

I tried using them and was told they were expired, which is weird considering I pay for my insurance once a week out of my paycheck. So I've called my work place and they tell me to contact the insurance company and the insurance company tells me that yes my insurance has expired…but I'm still paying for it so how is it expired. So I say okay then I would just like to cancel the insurance and you can refund me the roughly ~$800 that I'vee paid for insurance that I haven't been able to use.

Now they go "oh no we aren't able to cancel it unless there's a life changing event such as marriage, job loss, or death and we also aren't able to refund you."

So you're telling me I still have to pay for insurance I can't use, I can't cancel it and I'm just SOL ON $800 that I've worked my ass off to earn.

Can someone please give me some advice on how I can't fix this because I'm being pulled so many different ways.
