UHC Rewards Earn It Off Warning

For those who have United Healthcare , joined the rewards program and are thinking about doing their Earn It Off option for an Apple Watch or other fitness tracker. My warning to you is make sure you are confident in your health insurance/employment situation. I enrolled in the Earn It Off program for an Apple Watch and it was going great until I was laid off and lost my insurance. If you lose your benefits, you lose access to the entire UHC rewards system which means you can no longer manage anything about your Earn It Off program. This means you cannot log in to view the remaining balance or update the payment method. I reached out to support to just pay off the device in full, and they do not have a way to process remaining balance payments See here. Now, my credit card on file expired and support has no idea how to handle the situation currently. I’m waiting on a response in 10-14 business days.

The program itself was great and I was earning about $40 a month towards the watch but I am just so surprised that they don’t seem to have any systems in place for those that owe them money but are no longer members.
