(U.S) Health Insurance let me know 3 months AFTER they won’t cover provider. Can I report this?

my insurance company just sent me a letter in the mail today saying as of January 31 this year they no longer are covering this specific provider. I looked at the out-of-pocket that I am going to owe & it is not very affordable whatsoever. Is there any way I can report the fact that they waited until April to let me know they are not covering someone as of January. I want to reiterate I got this letter in the mail yesterday and I think that they should have let me known either before January 31 or at least pretty close to then instead of waiting three months. Am I wrong? Is this just how it works?

Also, I contacted my provider and told them I will not be able to do monthly appointments anymore because of this and they told me they were having issues renewing with the insurance company, but that the process of the yearly renewal is in tact and that I should get a letter within the next month basically saying “never-mind we cover them again”. I hope this is the case but regardless, this still puts me at a high balance for the appointments I have done in the timeframe of not being insured while having no clue that I was not insured because I was not informed of this until yesterday via mail. I would have not done as many appointments if I knew I’d be paying out of pocket.

From a legal standpoint, how can they get away with just letting me see a provider out of network, that was previously in, and not informing me until 3 months after the fact? Do I just need to suck it up or can I report this?
