Two insurance confusion
Sorry this may be a little difficult to follow. I am 24f and My husband 25M and I are separated in the state of SC and I signed up for my own health insurance so their would be no gap when we divorced well the day after I signed up for Aetna I needed emergency surgery and had none of my card information yet (mainly because I wasn’t sure how to find it at the time) so I gave them mine and my husbands insurance Cigna. After the visit about a week later I called and asked them to refile with Aetna as my primary and Cigna as my secondary and now I’m just really confused. Aetna overpaid by 15,000$ and I have these bills on my Aetna app and these other random bills on my Cigna app but when I called the hospital they were the ones that told me Aetna overpaid so do I just wait? I’ve only gotten one bill in the mail so far for like 23$ and one 612$ bill that they sent to the wrong address and only filed with one insurance so i called today and they are refiling that with my other insurance and I’m just so confused. I’m worried not paying this will make it go to collections and now my husband is saying he’s just gonna take me off his health insurance in August and I’m not sure how that will effect my bills if it even will. Any advice or encouragement would be great. Thanks.
