Tribal Insurance and Premium Tax Credits

Hello, I’m a Wyoming resident who is an enrolled American Indian tribal member with the White Earth Nation. I am currently enrolled in a tribal health plan through marketplace that is entirely covered by tax credits because I am an enrolled member. However, I am aware premium tax credits have a fair number of stipulations related to qualifying for them and not having to pay them back come tax season. I work a job and am between 100% and 400% the poverty level and thus qualify for premium tax credits (even though it seems a bit odd that tribal insurance would be subjected to the same restrictions), and that job did not previously offer insurance so the situation was pretty simple. However, I believe my job will start offering health insurance soon, and normally that would mean I would no longer qualify for premium tax credits so long as the plan they offered was considered affordable. Now, things get complicated I think, because my mother works for the state of Wyoming, and they have said that because they cannot offer her a tribal health plan she can keep her plan with marketplace, and I imagine the same applies to me. If I were to decline the health plan offered by my place of employment because they cannot offer me a tribal plan, will I still have to pay back the premium tax credits covering my current tribal plan considering I’m only declining the job insurance because they cannot offer me a tribal plan?
