The health insurance industry is one of the most slimy insurance industries in an industry that is already known for being slimy. But this sub is full of posts that basically tell people "too bad that's how insurance works when they're hit with a huge bill or their claim is denied for an unexpected reason (like a hospital being in network but the Dr working in the hospital being out of network or whatever)"… on the one hand I know the point of the sub is to inform but I also think it's okay to acknowledge that the way a lot of this works is BS.

The health insurance industry rakes in massive profits by using our premiums to hire people to figure out how to deny our claims. It's always gonna be this way until we move to a new system because you can't serve two masters… the pursuit of profit by for profit insurance companies is in conflict with proper and ethical delivery of healthcare. Nothing can change that.
