Hi all,
I need some advice. My mom is terminal with stage 4 breast cancer, unfortunately not a good outlook. We were being seen at a different cancer facility last year on Anthem blue cross insurance and have since switched to city of hope and thankfully got approved for medi-cal. Since switching to COH & Medi cal, we haven't had any bills/copays and its been a real game changer. Issue now is that radiation treatments and old bills are coming in from when we were still on Anthem blue cross (like last year). I'm talking really big bills. We've already been paying so many bills previously since her cancer journey began in 2017. But now that she's had brain mets, I've had to take over more of the financial tasks, and I'm coming to realize there is a lot of old unpaid bills. I am aware of the retroactive coverage that medi-cal gives so I'm already doing that. But I'd like to know if there's anything out there for my situation? We're not in the financial security to just pay off these big bills easily. I'm also in grad school and have taken out loans for this.
I'd appreciate any help I can get, thanks!
