Term July-June but deductible Jan-Dec??

Please help. I am so confused, and I have to re-sign up for health insurance by this afternoon.

We are planning to start trying for a baby around May-ish 2023. However, we are probably going to switch to the pullout method / be a little riskier with sex starting in December 2022 or January 2023. So earliest we’d have a baby (hopefully) would be September 2023, but ideally we’d have a baby in spring 2024.

I have two options for my health insurance: one with a $3000 deductible and $7000 OOPM and one with a $1500 deductible and $6000 OPM. The 1500 plan costs me about $40 more per month ($500/year) to buy/have.

My deductible runs on calendar year (Jan through Dec) rather than based on my insurance term (July through June). But how does that work if you have one deductible through June and a different deductible amount through December?

Basically I’m trying to figure out whether it’s worth us buying up for the better plan now or whether I should wait until the next term starts (July 2023) to buy the better plan.

Help! Thanks.
