Temp job – will it completely screw up my insurance?

Okay, here’s the situation:

I’ve been unemployed for a year, and in all that time, I only now finally am getting some temp work. So I’ve been on medi-cal. I’m about to start a temp job that will put me outside the medi-cal monthly income limits. The job comes with health insurance but the contract only runs for 10 weeks.

My understanding is that I’ll lose eligibility for medi-cal, and as long as I’m in the job, I won’t be eligible for covered CA subsidies bc of employer provided coverage, but after the job my annual income will still leave me stuck in medi-cal (annual income will still be too low to qualify for subsidies, though of course this is going to be even more complicated due to unemployment claims also putting me back in the too-high-for-medical loop of doom.)

Am I just screwed? What are my options here?

I’m thinking it’s company insurance, then paying way more than I can afford for COBRA, or it’s company insurance and then lie about my annual income for covered California?

Medi-cal takes about 5 months to process anything right now 🙁
