I have humana medicare advantage. I've had a surgery set for May 7th to have a breast reduction and all seemed good to go. I was notified that it was approved, saw it on myhumana, doctor's office people saw it as approved. My husband made arrangements for the kitchen he runs. The office received a letter today that it will only be paid for if a certain amount of tissue is removed. 500 grams would essentially be a mastectomy for me, so it has been canceled. I've lost a lot of weight as was required for this as well as an umbilical hernia repair done last year. So, I don't have as much tissue but the problem with my shoulders is worse than ever. Spoke to someone at humana who told me she couldn't see anything other than it being approved. Nothing pending, not even the letter. I don't know where to go from here and feeling pretty low 🙁 Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
