Suprise pregnancy… How can I get insurance?
So today I found out that I am about 4 weeks pregnant. Here are the details about our situation and why I'm conserned about our options… Our family is husband, me, two kids Husband makes about 63,500 a year (AGI) I recently took a full time job at our school system as a para, I start in August. Husband works for a small company, they offer insurance but we don't have me covered on it because it's $780 a month. To only have him covered is $160 a month. We can't afford the difference. Our 2 kids have GA State insurance (Peachcare for Kids) because we qualify. I use a company called Sidecar Health for myself, which is not insurance but is a healthcare cost reimbursement plan. They will cover maternity but only if you have chosen maternity care before you get pregnant and I never did because we did not plan on having another .. I cannot get insurance off of the marketplace because I'm offered insurance through my husbands employer. I will be offered insurance through my employer too but they don't cover maternity.. We do not qualify for Medicaid. And I'm almost positive that we are over the GA Pregnancy Medicaid income limit by like $200…. I need help, I don't even know where to start…
