I'm not super sure if this is even the right place to ask about these kind of things but I had tried calling my health insurance company and they kept referring to me to different departments just for those departments to tell me they transferred my call to the wrong place and so on, so it wasn't all that helpful

So I'm covered under Wellcare under my parents as a dependent in the NJ FamilyCare (and we also have Medicaid apparently??). I was wondering if I moved out of NJ for college in Massachusetts, would I continue to be covered under that plan? Or does me moving out of NJ stop covering me? Massachusetts law require all students to have adequate healthcare to a certain standard so my school so my university has a healthcare plan that is around $2.4k for students. I really don't want to pay those extra costs, but I don't think I can waiver out of it if my current health insurance does not hold up in Massachusetts.

If I can't keep my current health insurance in MA, is there any cheaper alternatives? I would love any advice I can get, and I'm really sorry if this is kind of a dumb question but I am not knowledgeable at all about this topic. Thank you!
