Student health insurance and maternity

I recently gave birth, and at the time I had student health insurance (I was in gard school) and I was also a dependent on my husband’s health insurance. Claims were going through smoothly until suddenly, all ultrasound claims, prenatal claims, and the hospital stay during birth (including c section) were denied by my husband’s insurance. And, they were not even coming through on my insurance. I have had over a dozen phone calls with my insurance, my husband’s, the hospital, the obgyn clinic, AND 3 ways calls between myself the hospital and my insurance, to sort this out. I have given and re-given all the insurance information we have and we have escalated and re-escalated the issue several times. Every time we got a new bill, my husband’s insurance denies every claim because apparently the student insurance is primary, and my student insurance never receives any claims. These bills are now several months old and everytime I receive a reminder about them, I follow up on the issue and I am told that “something was wrong here or there or not entered correctly here or there” and that I shouldn’t pay anything yet. I am at my wits end, and I have no idea what to do now. As it stands, apparently my husband’s insurance had recorded my student insurance as “commercial” and not “student” and so they need to fix that.
