Specific Anthem BCBS of NY *Marketplace* question — women’s health/annual labs

Hi all,

I'm having an incredibly hard time getting a straight answer from member services (which seems to be a giant call center) and am at my wits end here, hence this last ditch effort to hopefully connect to anyone here who's been in this situation.

I'm currently self employed and have insurance through the NYS Marketplace. My plan is the Anthem Gatekeeper X, Silver etc… and it is an HMO.

I'm scheduled for my women's annual soon, which as many of you may know, usually involves a pap smear and some labs. In my past experience, the insurance is usually in network with certain lab companies, like LabCorp/Quest etc… and I've just made sure my doctors sent the sample to one of those in-network companies. With my current plan, only *specific lab locations* seem to be in network. What do you do with this information?! For bloodwork, I've been walking my ass over to these specific lab locations that are in network, but I obviously can't do that for a pap smear.

Has anyone here with these plans gone through their annual and do they have any advice?
