Should We Cut Our Losses or Appeal?

I recently applied for family coverage at the marketplace. After our two of our four kids were denied coverage for CHIP for family six ended up, not meeting the criteria for the subsidy. I’m now faced with Payne for one month of premium to the medical insurance company. That amount is $2700. When I did on August 1 to attempt to add the two kids who had been denied CHIP coverage I had no idea that I was risking losing or that I was in affect running the likelihood of having to pay for the premium for that month. The CSR that assisted me did not tell me that doing an escalation which I didn’t know that’s what I was doing at the time. I thought I was just asking that they be covered for the month of August, that simple request was in fact, escalation this made our family of six and eligible for the subsidy. The CSR told me if I do this escalation you and your family and it is accepted you and your family are going to have to pay the premium of 2700 for the month of August because looking here I see that you put $36,000 for annual income and that alone does not qualify you for the subsidy. Do you wish for me to proceed? Essentially what was missing was an informed Consent. She should’ve told me this is a real consequence. This is probably going to happen. Had I known that I would’ve absolutely waited for the month of August and hope that they didn’t need medical insurance rather than phase a $2700 bill. The CSR that I spoke to today at the healthcare marketplace told me that I can file an appeal and mention that, the CSR didn’t notify me of that or post deductions income versus the deductions income. Of course I also have the option of cutting Insurance today and knowing that I will owe a prorated amount which comes to roughly $1400 and know that I won’t pay anything above that, or should I run the risk of having the POB approved and paying about $300 for families coverage or really? I don’t even know what would happen if they appeal this approved I don’t even know how much we would pay. I can always call the marketplace and find out. I’ll cut your losses and then.
