Should I wait for health insurance before getting a rhinoplasty?

My best option for coverage seems to wait till open enrollment in November, then being covered in January. I still need to see a Dr. but I have always had breathing problems. My brother, with a similar nose structure, has already been diagnosed with a deviated septum. I think it's likely this is the case or I need some kind of turbinate reduction. Regardless, I am uninsured but I can comfortably afford to pay 10-14k out of pocket for a Rhinoplasty. Both functional and cosmetic reasons.

I booked a consult for next week with a surgeon I've researched pretty thoroughly. I expressed this concern over waiting to be covered vs not. They told me it might make more sense to do it now since I would still have to meet my yearly deductible before insurance would cover a portion of the surgery. What would you guys recommend? I'm making 6 figures a year, self employed, and it looks like on healthcare.gov my deductible would be like $1,000 in the best case scenario. I could see how after paying $270 monthly, waiting to reach the deductible, I'd end up saving $1,000 at best.

Assuming surgery is $10,000, insurance pays half,

that $5,000 in savings BUT

1,000 deductive

plus 3,240 a year in insurance

all hypothetical because I have no idea if I have issues that surgery would cover.

SO i'd save like… $760. Savings still but please let me know if I'm doing this math right. I understand insurance would help in the case that there's a complication down the line. I think I will get insurance regardless, but it seems like there's no real benefit towards waiting. I'd likely get this surgery before the end of the year anyway as surgery prices go up after January. I have no experience w/ health insurance so all advice is so appreciated
