I am getting married soon and I am planning to stay on my public healthcare since it will be much better than my spouse's private insurance and because I don't want to switch networks. I believe I will have to leave him off of my healthcare, so we will remain on our separate health plans and I will simply insure myself if kids come along. Does this cause any issues when filing jointly? I know that my insurance will send something for my records and wasn't sure if the division of services would be an issue. Also, apparently FSA is an entirely separate thing, but can I continue to contribute to my FSA or allot FSA for his expenses too from my employer if we file together? Does FSA only cover myself if we split insurance plans? Not sure how these things relate and my colleagues either are the sole insurance provider for their family or are added to their spouse's plans generally, so I haven't been able to get much advice.
