Seeking advice on rescheduling mammogram, fertility treatments and insurance coverage concerns

Hello everyone,

I'm in a bit of a predicament and could use some advice. I had an annual mammogram that showed a finding, and after a follow-up, it turned out to be nothing concerning. However, I was advised to come back in six months (July) to confirm it continues to be benign. I'm currently undergoing fertility treatments, but I can't proceed until I get this follow-up mammogram.

The mammogram was initially scheduled for July, but I decided to move it up by about two months to next week so that I can proceed with the fertility treatments as soon as possible, pending an all-clear confirmation.

My concern is whether I should be worried about the possibility of having to pay out-of-pocket for the rescheduled mammogram since I voluntarily moved it earlier. My PCP has already provided a new order for the mammogram, but I'm unsure how to confirm that my insurance will still cover it.

I hesitate to inform my insurance company about the reason for rescheduling the mammogram, as I don't know if it could lead to a negative cost impact. Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any suggestions on how to handle this?

Specifically, I'm looking for advice on:

1) Potential risks in moving the mammogram earlier regarding insurance coverage 2) Steps to confirm that my insurance will cover the rescheduled mammogram 3) Whether I should disclose the reason for rescheduling to my insurance company

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
