Received a refund following surgery – do I tell insurance company?

Hi there, I am new to navigating health insurance by myself and want to make sure I don't unintentionally do something to get myself in trouble here.

WI, UIHC Choice Plus, $3000 deductible, $7000 out of pocket limit

I'm a 29 year old woman and my income is $60k

I had surgery in February and maxed out my deductible: paid about $1500 to the hospital and $1500 to anesthesiology. When I got my bill, I applied for financial assistance and also sought help from an organization that helps reduce medical bills. The hospital issued me a refund of $1400.

My insurance portal says I've met my deductible and that I've spent a total of $4149 going toward my $7000 out of pocket limit.

My question is, what do I do from here in regards to insurance? If I received the refund, do I have to notify my insurance company, because it may affect their calculations in regard to how much I've paid toward my deductible/out of pocket max? Will I have a bunch of retroactive bills to pay for medical care that I sought between my surgery and the refund, if the refund means I didn't technically meet my deductible at a certain point in time? Hopefully that makes sense.

Did I make a mistake seeking a refund in the first place?

Thank you so much in advance for your help.
