Reached 8400$ out of pocket max πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸŽˆ

I have an integrated deductible, pharmacy & in-network medical, without a copay accumulator. (Unfortunately this won't work for you, at all, if your plan has an accumulator.) I reached my out-of-pocket maximum for the year without actually spending a penny of my own money. Free healthcare for my family & I for the remainder of the year. πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰

My employer provides $1200 in a HSA account. All but $600 of my claims were paid by manufacturer's/copay assistance. I made a net $600 that I was able to invest in my HSA investment account. Not to mention the thousands I saved by enrolling in a high-deductible plan. I used that saved money to further invest & max-out my HSA contributions, lowering my tax liability and saving me even more money.

My first claim for the year was an Rx that totaled over $5000…met my deductible with a single claim & paid nothing at the pharmacy. That was in January & meticulously planned for the year prior. Meeting the deductible is the easy part, its the out of pocket that takes time since co-pays only add-up so quickly.

Repeated this with various brand-name drugs & finally met the rest of the out-of-pocket this week. This my 6th or 7th year doing with without problem or concern. This was my highest yearly plan deductible. I feel like an extreme coupon'er. πŸ’ͺ🏼
