Questions about fertility tests

GF is freezing her eggs and we want to have kids eventually. We're not ready financially to have kids, need maybe 5 more years. She said there is some kind of fertility test (maybe I'm using the wrong terms) that costs 10k USD and that me + her have to be trying to have kids for 6 months without success to have it covered by insurance

And so she's telling me "ok let's have sex now without a condom for 6 months, it will probably fail to have a baby because of my older age + you're not able to ejaculate that often during sex, and then the insurance will cover the fertility test. And even if we have a kid by accident, we'll send them to my 65-70 ish year old parents to be taken care of"

And a bunch of thoughts are entering my mind

How could the doctor/people doing the fertility test possibly confirm that the couple has been trying for 6 months without success to have a kid? What questions/verifications do they make to confirm the couple has been trying for 6 months without success to have a kid? Sex without condom for 6 months -> chance of having kids, which could be a disaster for us financially/time-wise right now even with her "send kid to her parents plan". Not willing to do it. Not sure if this is going to get me kicked out of her place, and I'm not ready for any depression that would result. Not sure how to approach this situation. Confused on what to do. submitted by /u/wallpapersdance
