question regarding when I can change insurance companies

I picked the worst effing insurance known to man through the marketplace last year and I'm only paying on it the rest of the year in case I end up in the emergency room.

I'm waiting for open enrollment to pick a new insurance. but can't I just contact an insurance company and buy one of their policies even if it's like $500? And not go through the marketplace again? I don't even care at this point. I just want good insurance that I can take to a doctor's office and they actually know what it is.

I'm in Texas if it helps. And I'm self-employed. 33 healthy and income is around 70k. Isn't there an insurance company in Texas that is so recognizable and reputable that most anyone will take it?

I use the member portal on this insurance's website and it connects me with doctors offices. I call the offices and they've never heard of my insurance nor will they take it.
