Question regarding Specialty Medication and Out of Pocket Max

I have been taking a specialty medication for over a year. I do not pay anything for it between insurance and copay assistance. They even have a third-party administrator that manages the copay assistance so I don't have to go to the manufacturer each year and re-enroll.

When i log in to my account and look up claims fo the medication it shows what the insurance paid, but then it show an amount for my responsibility, which is incorrect. I have called the number on the back of my card and talked to an agent about this, and was told not to worry that I will not be responsible for that, the third-party administrator is taking care of it with the copay assistance. What I have noticed though is that that this amount that i "owe" is being applied toward meeting my OOP, so I am going to meet that faster.

My question, is this normal for some insurance plans, or is their system making a mistake in applying this toward meeting my OOP?
