Question about CHP+ in Colorado and pregnancy

(I wasn't sure which flair tag would be most appropriate, but since this is regarding a public health insurance program, I chose Medicaid)

Hello! My husband and I are planning to have our first baby and I'm trying to get a better idea of how the transition from private health insurance to Colorado's CHP+ coverage would work for me.

From their website, I've learned that our household income does qualify us for CHP+ and the requirements state that the pregnant person must not have other health insurance to be approved. It sounds like I would need to cancel my private insurance plan quickly after the "life event" of becoming pregnant while simultaneously applying for CHP+ and hoping it gets approved quickly? Could I cancel my private insurance plan earlier than when I actually become pregnant? I don't want to be pregnant without health insurance for a duration of time, and I'd want to start my prenatal visits asap but would need to be covered with CHP+ to do so. I'm just not sure how fast the approval process is.

I hope this makes sense, this would be my first pregnancy so I am very new to how this all works. I would love any help you can offer as I try to figure this out!

ETA: I am 28F, in Colorado, estimated gross household income is 75k
