I'm having bad anxiety about my health and I want to sign up for insurance so my family doesn't have to pay for something (I am complexly fine its all in my head) so I call hethcare.gov and this man signs me up for a premium tax credit because I don't make that much (freshman college student working part time). I try and cancel it a couple days later and they said id have to pay everything back at November and I wont have insurance till November (they transfer me over to this guy that's like "are you sure you would like to cancel the cancelation of your premium tax credit " 5 moths later, I called yesterday to update my credit card so I don't get in trouble and I ask the lady if this affects my taxes, like if i cancel will i have to play it all back, and she says no. I'm obviously confused and angry (I don't take it out on her don't worry I say thank you and leave) but I need it straight what rules come with premium tax credit how does it work, what does refundable mean?

I trust people on reddit more than those fucker snakes at hethcare.gov. sold my fucking phone number couldn't stop getting spam calls for weeks.

really upset no one properly showed me the rules to this.

I am single, no kids and i make 15,000 a year no medical issues and no bad habits like smoking and drinking i am 19 years old, using Florida blue. i pay 143.95 on premium tax credit
