Primary and Secondary Insurances

I have been on my husband's insurance for several years now through Anthem. It is fantastic coverage and I have only had one issue throughout the years of being with them.

My company I work for was recently acquired by another company who uses United Healthcare as their insurance. The employer covers the cost of the medical plan, so I thought it would be a no brainer to add the insurance. It started April 1.

I thought it would make the most sense to keep both insurances, especially because the insurance through my employer is a high deductible plan and my husband's is a low deductible plan.

Ever since I updated Anthem, UHC, and pharmacy's insurance info, there have been nothing but issues. Everytime my pharmacy tries to process my claims through United Healthcare, they have no issues. When they try to process it through Anthem as secondary, it won't go through. I have called Anthem several times for them to tell me they have it right in the system and they aren't the issue. I have tried coordinating with my pharmacy to get it fixed and they have been unable.

I called UHC today to confirm that they are my primary, which they are. I then thought to text one of my providers to see if they have been having any issues to narrow down if it is a pharmacy issue or not. Lo and behold….it isn't.

I call Anthem again and tell them they have to be the issue because everything else is working and when it involves them, it isn't. They claim everything is right and they still aren't the issue.

I don't even know where to go from here. Honestly, I'm fed up enough to drop the UHC and just stick with Anthem, since it's the better coverage. But it annoys me because it shouldn't be an issue. I can't be the only one who does this.

Any thoughts? Advice? Direction? Someone to commiserate?

Tdlr; primary and secondary insurance issues and Anthem fucking sucks.
