Pre-authorization???
My Vyvanse was pre-authorized months ago, specifically approved, yet insurance won't cover it. It's like $400.
Why would they pre-authorize something they won't cover. I'm currently planning to get the generic and to use GoodRX coupons. Without the coupon it's only SLIGHTLY less expensive than the brand name. Still costs $75. Aderall is too dangerous for my bipolar 1.
This is not good since I plan to get wegovy due to diabetes in my family (mom died from insulin). If they don't cover the wegovy, it costs $1,000+ for a month's supply. I'm prediabetic.
Is it something to do with the deductible? I think the insurance rep mentioned it, but why would they preauthorize if they're not paying?
Also, with all the medications bought on my plan, plus weekly therapy, I should have hit my deductible, do meds/mental health not count with certain plans?
WHY PRE-AUTHORIZE AND NOT PAY??? ๐ญ
My insurance is Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Omnia Silver.
Never had medication coverage problems until this year.
