Hello all. I’m really hoping someone here can help me out. I have an autoimmune condition that requires monthly tier 5, “specialty” drugs, indefinitely. In addition to this, I see specialists a few times a year, and have expensive imaging and blood work done at least once per year. —— Up until now, I’ve been on name brand drugs that reimburse and max out my out of pocket maximum. This year, my insurance is requiring I go on the generic, which, when combined with costs for all treatments, makes my monthly insurance roughly $1,000 per month out of pocket, for an otherwise healthy 30-something year old. —— I’ve spent hours in the phone with my current insurance co, insurance brokers, the drug manufacturer, and nobody knows how to avoid this extreme cost – and no, I don’t qualify for income assisted programs. I’m open to changing insurance providers, but would need someone to confirm they cover my drug, without charging hundreds of dollars per month for just this one medicine. My time is running out to find a solution. Please help!!!
