Please help – Anthem requesting repayment due to lack of Coordination of Benefits (COB)

Timeline:

I had coverage until the end of Sept 2022 from my job (Aetna).

On Sept 1, 2022 my partner listed me as a dependent for his plan (Anthem). So there was one month of overlapping coverage, the month of September.

We went to couple's therapy, the therapist listed me as the identified client, therapist gave us a superbill and I manually submitted the claims via Anthem as a dependent because most of the service dates were after Sept 2022. But there were a handful of appointments in September.

Anthem came back to me now (a full year later) to say they're demanding repayment with "service date 9/15/2022" and "Paid date 8/30/2023." But the amount they're requesting to repay is much higher than that which covers just the appointments in Sept.

How would I handle this? I'm worried I can't submit the original claim to Aetna to get reimbursed because so much time has passed, would I need to do that + fill out some COB form for Anthem to verify? It's a lot of money to pay back and I'm scared D:
