Options for my mom to see a neurologist and get her medication

Hello,

My mom is currently on medi-cal and we've been worried about her cognitive decline and history with seizures. So we saw her primary care doctor to get a referral to a neurologist

However, we saw the neologist a couple months ago and they ran a couple tests and prescribed her medication the last time we saw them. However we still have not gotten the results of the tests they ran. And they stopped taking medi-cal insurance.

Her primary care doctor is now referring her to a different neurologist who has to run the same tests again as the primary care doctor advised they cannot prescribe her the medication because it's a controlled substance, only the neurologist can.

The problem is that she's running out of her medications as well (She has another 3-4 days worth left) and she's still working so she isn't able to keep taking time off to go to the doctor

I'm just tired of all this back and forth from the neurologist to the primary care doctor and I'm looking for help to finding a good insurance recommendation or guidance on that to look for when looking for health insurance where she can see a specialist if needed.

Thank you in advance!
