I am a current Kaiser Permanente member for roughly 10 years and have been perfectly happy (HSA, HDHP). However they could not reach agreement with our HR and the coming plan year we will only be offered different flavors of United. I have enjoyed having an HSA so plan to keep that aspect but am torn between the two plans:

United Colorado Doctors ($104.89/mo)

Cost is similar to current Kaiser Plan NO out of network coverage Smaller network $6000 individual deductible

United Choice Plus ($242.81/mo)

Cost more than double current Kaiser plan Out of network coverage Larger network Access to UC Health (system that everyone has good things to say…) $6000 individual deductible

My employer contributes $250 a month to my individual HSA and then I contribute more to hit the IRS max every year. I am a relatively healthy 37 yo LGBTQ male. I see mental health and a physical therapist more than any other provider. I travel a couple times a year to see friends and family. Run, climb, bike.

My therapist has other clients on Choice Plus but on a HDHP, it wouldn't matter until I hit my deductible.

Honestly, I want to keep Kaiser, but I looked at the exchange and that would be much more and/or worse coverage than what is being offered via my employer.
