Open enrollment for health insurance ends Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022 – The Deming Headlight
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The end of the open enrollment period for comprehensive health insurance is fast approaching. New Mexicans only have until Saturday, January 15 to sign up for low-cost or no-cost health insurance on beWellnm.com, the state’s health insurance marketplace. People who enroll by January 15 will get a comprehensive health insurance plan that is effective back to January 1, 2022.
“There are more reasons than ever for New Mexicans to enroll in a health insurance plan,” said Russell Toal, Superintendent of Insurance. “Health insurance available on beWellnm.com is comprehensive and very affordable, thanks to the American Rescue Plan and our efforts,” he added. Most New Mexicans are eligible for plans and assistance that reduces the cost of monthly premiums. In fact, many New Mexicans are eligible for a health plan for less than $10 a month. Many also are eligible for help with copayments and other out-of-pocket expenses.
Health insurance sold through beWellnm.com covers physical and behavioral health services, medications, hospitalizations and emergency care, maternity care and much more. Preventive care and behavioral health services are available without additional out-of-pocket costs.
“The value and security of having health insurance coverage in these challenging times cannot be overstated,” said Superintendent Toal. “Please make sure you and your family get enrolled and protected from unexpected health care costs. The increased financial assistance for purchasing health insurance coverage on beWellnm is an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed.”
