Just wasted two hours of my life trying to figure out how much an appointment it’s going to cost me tomorrow. I was able to get an estimated cost of the actual test itself, but could not get an answer if the facility where I’m getting the test done is in network, or if the doctor that’s going to be interpreting the test is in network. My health insurance representative gave me two different answers and the facility itself could not answer but gave me the phone number to their “health care pricing line” which told me they need 5-7 business days to get me an answer. I believe it! Because I couldn’t find the answers myself before they all closed down for the day.who can navigate this stupid system? It’s setting people up to pay huge amounts because they didn’t know the doctor reading the test was not in network and therefore cannot be applied to your deductible. It’s your right as a patient to know an estimation of the cost so that you can budget specifically for those that have outrageous high deductibles ($12,000 if anyone was wondering) I’m so frustrated and am canceling my appointment until I have better answers. The reason I didn’t do this earlier is because I didn’t know until today there could be a facility fee and that they employ doctors that are not in network
