Newborn insurance thru Mom?
Claim 1: I had my baby in July and her entire hospital bill appears to have been rejected by UHC(purchased thru Marketplace in TX). I contacted UHC they said “don’t worry it’s been covered you just have to pay your deductible to the hospital.” But I don’t see hospital charges on my UHC account for my newborn??? So I called the hospital and they stated that no, my payment plan is going towards my deductible but I still have an outstanding balance for my newborn. I’m assuming UHC has no record of her claim because it’s been rejected? UHC is stating it’s been covered but hospital is stating it’s not and my account supports their statement.
Claim 2&3: I received a bill for two of my newborns pediatric visits. UHC again is saying “don’t worry it’s going to be covered, you just have to call the billing’s dept and tell them to send the correct coding. So I did. Pediatric office said one of the claims is coded corrected but the other stands. I had UHC three way call but they said the office had a high volume of calls and he’ll try again later. BS. I’ve worked auto insurance that’s just a term to keep you from flying off the handle and get you off the phone nicely.
This is sooo frustrating. If I hear a UHC rep say one more dang time, “DON’T WORRY it’s going to get paid” I’m indeed worrying and guaranteed to lose it.
