I quit my job as a teacher at the end of the school year back in June and termed out of their Kaiser plan then along with receiving the COBRA paper work. From there I got onto my husbands health insurance plan through Kaiser. New school year starts up and September 1st I am showing a new primary plan under my old employer through Kaiser. Kaiser is saying while I am on my husbands insurance and that’s what’s been paying my prenatal care that my old employer still has an active plan for me with no termination date and that I need to talk to them. Talk to my old HR and on their end they say I am termed out, do not show any payments towards a current health plan, and have the termination paperwork for my insurance marked at June 1st. Is there anything else I should be doing or just let Kaiser and my old HR figure it out? Being pregnant I am worried about inaccurate billing or finding out that I owe my old employer money even though they are saying they don’t have an active plan or payments for me.
