New job, going to lose my child’s SSI benefits… CA

I recently was hired for a great company with decent pay. I have 30 days to apply for insurance for myself and possibly my son. I am pretty sure I will lose his SSI benefits and really my biggest concern is losing his medical benefits because he was born a micro preemie and he has asthma plus some other health issues. He really needs his insurance and I am trying to see if there is a way for him to continue getting medical. I know he needs a procedure sometime in the near future. I am just not sure if I add him or not. The insurance offered by my company is Anthem BCBS, am I better off keeping him off and applying through covered CA if he loses it. I already reported my job to SSI the day after I started and they said there could be a chance for him to keep it through medical and not SSI because he already has it. I just have not figured out how to go about it and I have a deadline to apply through my company. I would appreciate any advice as far as understanding and figuring out the best move to getting him his insurance.
