new insurance + potential ( undiagnosed) pre existing disease

I recently purchased a high end full coverage Insurance plan, it’s a no deductible no copay all outpatient dental and wellness included. Prior to this I always just had emergency coverage and I paid all outpatient medical services out of pocket ( I’m outside the USA so typical doctors visits are only 30$ and medicines testing etc only a couple hundred) It cost me about 7k usd for a full year with a well known big international Insurer. I already checked everything over before buying and I have access to the best hospitals and doctors in the country I am located.

My dilemma is that I have what I believe to be either Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis. Both of them run in both sides of my family and I have been having symptoms on and off for years that are similar. Because I never had good insurance before I never did a full check or any testing for these things. Now that I have full coverage I want to get everything checked up on to see what’s going on.

When doing the paperwork it asks for many different types of pre existing conditions, but if you answer yes to any then hospital records were required. And in my situation I have never been tested or scanned or admitted so there is no records. I’m sure that I can get an appointment to my GI of choice but I’m concerned about what exactly I can tell the doctor when I see them. I want to get the best treatment possible so I don’t want to just lie and say my stomach is only hurting for a week but I’m worried that I tell them about my family history and how I’ve been having on and off issues and this gets back the the insurer and they cancel me or void the coverage.

Does anyone know the best way to handle it. I’ve asked some family and friends and they are about 50/50 between telling the doctor the full truth or just saying the problem is recent ( within the coverage period) thanks all.
