Need your help guys! Can I legally decline insurance provided by my employer?

I have recently received letter from DHS which states that I should take insurance offered by my employer because it is usually less expensive than the insurance through the marketplace. However, that is not my case – employer insurance would cost me roughly 280 dollars a month , unlike my insurance through the marketplace for which I pay 30$ a month (with lower deductible and OOPM).

Also, my family income is 33000$ which , according to 9% affordability criterion, gives me right to decline it as insurance considered to be unaffordable.

– Why is DHS saying that employers insurance should cost less?

– Why my employers insurance is so expensive? – or ,maybe, I don’t understand it.

– Can I legally decline it?

– Is employers contribution included in the price stated on the employers website?
