Need help prior authorization problems

Hi so I just found this sub hope this fits, on mobile but really need help. Also probably going to be long, tldr at end.

So I just got switched to Medicaid and it has been nothing but a nightmare and a ton of phone calls, partly due to this. While I usually have to fight to get my migraine prevention medication this has been the longest and worst authorization fight I have ever had. Due to the change I had to find new doctors (so right there is a loss of continuity information and the headaches of getting records transferred), well all the neurologists have months waiting for seeing a new patient most not until next year. So I try to get my primary care doctor to get my medications but of course the prior authorization thing comes up. It’s taking forever to get her the information she needs to convince the health insurance and still getting denials. Part of the denials, they want me to use medications that would be bad for my health, sedate me in the process of writing a thesis and looking for a better job (also goes against my need for a stimulant to function), or can’t get (Botox which has my anxiety through the roof over that many needles to my head, need for a good specialist, and just the efficacy of it compared to my current medications). So I’m asking what I should do as I will be out by next week and not guaranteed that it will be resolved by then. These medications are the only ones that work this well went from over 15 to maybe 1-3 headaches a month. Edit: In New Jersey and dealing with Horizon Medicaid

TLDR: Stuck in prior authorization hell need solutions to being without the only meds that work while needing to stay productive.
