Need health insurance- 40 year old healthy male – USA

TLDR version:

Need health insurance and healthcare.gov failed me miserably last time I got a plan through them. Live in USA. 40 year old male. No health issues. Working 2 part time jobs currently.

….

More detailed version:

40 year old male. I work 40 hours a week (2 jobs).

Make 20k a year

United States.

No health issues.

But I need to find a health insurance plan.

In the past, maybe about 3 years ago, when I was in a similar situation, I got a plan through Healthcare.gov

I paid 150$ a month. The company providing my coverage was “Golden Rule”.

I had coverage for about 6 months and never had to use it because I was healthy and never got sick. One day I got a cough and needed to see a doctor.

NOBODY would accept the plan. I tried to get into 20 different doctors offices and nobody would take it.

According to all of the doctors’ offices, Golden Rule was not “doing what they were supposed to” as it relates to how insurance companies operate and how doctors’ offices interact with them. I believe it was a financial problem of some sort IIRC. Regardless nobody would see me with that plan from that company.

And all I was trying to do was go in for just a basic cold. Nothing crazy. Just a normal doctor’s appointment.

So my question is, where can I get reliable health insurance?

And where can I get it at a low cost?

Or if it HAS to be expensive – just because that is the world we live in, where can I get coverage where I will at least be confident that doctors will accept my plan?

Obviously on one hand I do not want to pay a huge monthly bill for coverage.

But at this point, I am open and welcoming any suggestions, regardless of price just because it’s annoying to not have health insurance.

Thanks, everyone.
