My multi-state workplace purchased a health plan based in its home state for the entire company – what does this mean for me?

I live in Illinois, my workplace is headquartered in Georgia. My plan is Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.

I just got my new ID card and went to update my insurance on my therapy provider website only to find that my insurance provider only comes up with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield+ a bunch of states I don't live in, but one of them is Georgia, which is where the main office of the company is.

The fine print on my ID card paperwork states 'only able to use the Blue Cross Blue Shield name and service marks in Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin' – but no Illinois, where a whole group of employees under the plan live.

What does this mean for us???

When inputting the insurance for my therapy provider I put that I'm located in Illinois but put the plan as Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia hoping maybe they can work it out internally, but I'm wondering if I'll have to call to truly figure it out.

We did have a company wide health insurance briefing and this was not touched on at all…
