My insurance is trying to kill me.

22 M, Ohio. Ambetter buckeye Gold plan, around 40k a year. Currently, I can not work well due to Narcolepsy.

I started having chest pains in December and got approved for a holter and additional screening for other heart related conditions.

Diagnosed with Narcolepsy and heart palpitations in May, and recently had my cardiologist tell me I need to drop my current narcolepsy meds due to them being a stimulant.

My insurance denied me all other forms of medication except for SSRIs. SSRIs are proven to not alleviate my worst symptoms (excessive sleepiness, sleep inertia, insomnia, and hypnagogic hallucinations), as well as are on record for me having multiple suicide attempts while on them throughout high-school (My old therapist thought I was tired due to depression, don't blame him, narcolepsy is often misdiagnosed.)

We appealed twice for both Xyrem and Xywav, and they keep denying me stating I need to try the SSRIs. This would be frustrating to anyone already, but I could end up being cleared for stimulants if I could get my heart fully checked and diagnose what that issue is. But they have also denied me both a calcium test and an MRI.

So tldr. I can't be traditionally medicated due to an unknown heart condition. Insurance won't let me test for said heart condition nor let me be medicated through non-heart effecting meds as they continue to insist I should take medication that has already pushed me to the brink of suicide in my life.

I pay them 300 a month for them to say "kys"
