My EOB says my amount due was lower than what I paid at my (new) PCP… What next?

Tldr; paid a copay of $60, EOB says I should have paid $20. Do I bring EOB paperwork to PCP office to get a refund? Would that be enough? Will they be weird about it?

Never had like actual, real health insurance before! Still trying to figure it all out. This is a very low stakes question, especially compared to some of the ones I’ve seen here.

I set up an appointment with a potential PCP for June 12, went in, paid my copay ($60), and bam badda boom all good. I was expecting the copay to be $20 according to the insurance documents, but I justified it as maybe this was a Tier 2 office (as opposed to a Tier 1?) or it was being considered a Specialist visit for whatever reason (maybe because I was doing a whole new patient physical? Or because I was bringing up a specific health concern?).

Anyway, as you may have gathered, I got my EOB from the insurance and yeah, the copay should have been $20. I also talked to an insurance agent to confirm that I was reading the paperwork right, that I did not owe the PCP office an additional $20, I only ever owed $20 period and since I paid them $60, I had overpaid.

So – I know I would go to the healthcare provider office for a refund. But will the EOB paperwork suffice as evidence I was overcharged and due a refund? I don’t want them thinking I’m like, dissatisfied with care or being shady or trying to pull a fast one or anything weird. And I’m awkward so this is awful for me to deal with. 🫠 Any advice?
