Montana Medicaid – Transportation?

I’ve read up on the transportation part (however vague it still is) and I’d like to know about others’ experiences before I get stuck in a call on hold if I don’t have to especially as I’m going to have to wait until the day before my surgery to set anything up because they are not informing me of the exact time until then. -_-

I am scheduled for surgery in a month or so. Technically, I do have a ride, but my ride has health issues of their own so if I can avoid them having to give me a ride, better. I live about 2-2.5 hours away from where I will get the surgery. There is no public transportation from here to there short of a uber/taxi and I’d really like to avoid that. Has anyone used Medicaid for transportation? Like I can drive myself there, they’re keeping me for a day, but I will not be able to drive myself home upon release (my friend could totally pick me up on release, but that long of a drive after that for them…it’d be hard). Even a day or two after, it’s going to be frowned upon, but hell, if I can do it, I will (with my friend supervising/helping). However, if there’s a way I can get a ride to/from, without my friend having to get involved in it, I’m all for it.
