Medi-cal coverage for me and my baby

We recently got approved for medi-cal as we are losing our health coverage through my work end of this month because I cannot return to work postpartum. I’ve never been on any government program aside from covered California long ago. I’ve been on maternity leave this whole year. I plan on letting my job know that I will not be returning, and I realize that I have some vacation that they would pay me out on. What happens if I exceed the amount required for income this month because of that? Even though I have no future income set yet. ( I plan on being self employed starting in July) but anticipate I will not make much because of my availability. We just got our medi-cal approved because my infant has medical needs as well, but the services she will be receiving won’t book until July when there’s no overlap in coverage. Will medi cal drop us this month because I got my last issued work check of vacation? And then resume in July? How does this work. They made it seem annual income is more crucial, yet monthly is what seemed to qualify us. Very confused here. Please help!
