May or May not get a bill, that is the question.
I hope I’ve posted this in the correct sub. My apologies in advance.
On 12/30/2020, my girlfriend went to an urgent care facility (recently researched to find out they are horrible and unorganized) and took her Medicaid to test for COVID. They also claimed it was a new patient visit when she was literally just in her car getting a test. She wasn’t billed at all. We received a notice today (two years later) that Medicaid ended up not covering it, that office did not ask for approval, and that office may or may not send a bill. We have moved since then, so if they did have our address it would be old one and would have to rely on the good ole fashioned Postal Service to forward it (if they do send one).
What happens in these kinds of circumstances where an urgent care facility messes up like this and may or may not send a bill? IMO, I feel like they won’t, plus they messed up and attempted to bill an insurance provider without approval. I would think they are just going to eat the cost on it since it is only a COVID test. And we have documentation from Medicaid.
